The three-day holiday weekend even included sewing time–I got a new dress cut out and was able to finish the palm-leaf print one. If you remember, I was going to try the mid-calf “midi” length on it. I’m not 100% that was a success:
The problem with a low-calf length on a dress with no defined waist is that it shares many similarities with a nightgown. However, the benefit of the same features is it feels like you’re wearing a nightgown. I threw on a jacket and fancy shoes for work and felt like I was getting away with not wearing “real” clothes all day:
Fabric: Michael Levine ITY jersey
Pattern: Adapted from the t-shirt and dress pattern in the Built By Wendy Knits book (last used here, with sleeves and a non-nightgown length)

Hawt!! Haut!! Hooray!!
You’re tall enough that the midi really works. Ok, so subjectively neither of us is a brick house (in the Motown sense), but you are willowy and lithe… So pretty much a potato sack will work on you. I think it turned out really great, and you’re channelling jcrew. Good habits die-hard!
Did you know that the Beatles’ “got to get you into my life” was an ode to *ahem* leafy greens? I heard that on NPR yesterday so it must be true!
