Remember back in the fall when I wanted to make an ankara print maxi skirt and forgot that pocket linings shouldn’t be made out of a contrasting fabric? After three months of the skirt languishing on the back of the door in time out, I realized it only needed a hem and that I could make it work. (And that it had probably been in time out a little too long.)
How did I make it work? I added fancy woven ribbon to the pocket edges, to mask the bright white of the existing pocket lining. I’m hoping that the contrasting pattern makes it look like I planned it all along, versus a way to cover a rookie mistake.
This turned out FAB!! and I like the pocket detail a lot 🙂
