I decided not to take the camels hair coat I finished in January to the cleaners at the end of the season, because I’d been careful with it and I was worried how it would hold up to dry cleaning. But after the Carpet Beetle Incident, everything was getting cleaned. So I took it in.
I very carefully told the (young) woman behind the counter that it was hand-tailored and the fabric was camels hair, and so to be careful with it. It was clear at the time she’d never heard of such a thing, and the pick up tag proved it:
Yup, Millenial, it’s camel fur. Close enough.
(The cleaners did a good job with it, though. Whew!)
