1. I should have mentioned yesterday that First Aid Kit, being both Swedish and fond of close harmonies, has an ABBA cover of Chiquitita floating around the interents.
2. Here is something to ponder about the universe supporting one’s decisions:
Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, a chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation) there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.

This is SO true. I never thought of it as hesitancy vs. commitment to a goal. I’ve always seen it as either you’re proactive and making something happen, or you’re reactive. I’ve always felt that “where there’s a will, there’s a way” and anyone can make anything happen for themselves. There’s another quote that I might have read on this blog that comes to mind — something about not giving up on your dreams because it takes a long time to achieve them; the time will pass anyway. I sometimes wonder if I suffer from “first world, white, middle class” optimism? Nonetheless, visualization and energy invested towards a goal reaps incremental, exponential success.
