1. I finally did my first Fitness Blender routine this week after reading about it in the fall on, of all places, a sewing blog. Some of what Sallie had to say clearly stuck with me, like

“Our bodies are like dogs…Dogs love to have a job to do, and the more physical that job the better. We show our dogs that we love them by taking them on walks and letting them run and jump and play. The worst thing you can do to a dog is ignore it.  Bodies aren’t so different. They were made to move, and by letting them move, even challenging them, you make your body happy and are showing it that you love it.”

So after 6 months (!) of doing at least a little yoga a day, I think I’m going to add in some cardio.  The classes are free (with filters for “low impact” and “no equipment” options) and I can just do them in the basement. Now that I’m in the habit of yoga, it shouldn’t be too hard to work in, right?

2. Here’s a quote by Emerson. Today we’ve learned that dogs love to be active and they love well-dressed people:

“There is one other reason for dressing well, namely that dogs respect it, and will not attack you in good clothes.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
