1. President Obama wrote an op ed in Glamour on why he’s a feminist, how far the women’s movement has come, and how far we still have to go. It is FANTASTIC and should be required reading. (Astonishingly, he is the first American president to publicly go on the record as a feminist. I know.)
2. The New York Times ran a piece about the McCall pattern company headquarters. It’s not that novel to those who sew, but it’s nice to see it getting attention. Plus, the slideshow of old Vogue Designer Original patterns is pretty cool.
3. It’s the first weekend in August (I know). There’s still time to fit in all the things we wanted to do this summer, right?
