P.S. If two people are using it… you could double up on your cost basis!
If you consider the cost basis of your carpet… every day that you enjoy it, the cost basis goes down. Day 1 is $5000 per use. Day 2 is $2500 per use. Day 3 is $1,666 per use. After one year, it’s down to $13.00. After three years its $4.50. Five years is $2.73. If you get carpet that lasts 13.5 years and you stay put for that long, its was FREE. 😉
