Staying Low

Doc was getting over a head cold and I was fighting it off, so it was a low-key weekend. There was even a nap, which was just fine with Toby (that’s his “mama, we’re having a nap together!” face).

The biggest excitement? My nephew turned six (how?!) and we went out for the family party and that astonishing Saturn 5/Skyler 6 cake that my dad engineered for him. What a delightful little person he’s turned out to be–happy birthday, Skyler!

Rainy Sunday

We could have geared up and gone out hiking yesterday, but sometimes being forced to take it easy is really nice. It means you can catch up on laundry and eat cereal and not get dressed until 2:00 and maybe even listen to this.

Weekend With Toby

I had four days off and I had a furry shadow for most of it. Here he is unconvinced Doc’s new desk is being assembled properly:

Here he is helping me finish my quilted jacket:

Here he is taking a break from helping me so much:

And here’s where we sneaked off to while he was asleep (things are melting!):

Keeping Calm

We’re carrying on and keeping mostly calm over here with winter sun, back-to-back sewing projects, Toby time, and mountain time–anything that’s sunny/warm/soft/orderly, in any combination.

It’s Monday

And it’s rainy, and we didn’t go up into the mountains because of cleaning and grocery shopping and social engagements, and now Doc is getting sick to boot. So let’s do our best to be as relaxed this week as Toby here:

Good And Bad

I got to babysit my nephew Friday night and put him to bed…but I’m not used to a five-year-old’s biome and got a sore throat on Saturday.

It was lovely fall weather so I thought I should try to get into the mountains Sunday…but overdid it.

Good thing Dr. Toby is on the case!
