Friday Unrelated Information
1. Blue Moon Ranch, the alpaca ranch in Kamas, has lots of babies this year! (Long time readers, do you remember they are called crias?) Here is a little boy born yesterday:Photo from their “What’s new?” page linked to above–go see lots of cute crias there.
2.This was on This Advertising Life posted as “when I run out of ideas in a naming session,” but really, it’s “me trying to work any time after 3:00 pm” lately:
Friday Unrelated Information
1. It’s the autumnal equinox today, which I would like a lot more if it didn’t signal the beginning of the long descent into darkness. At least it’s only three months to the solstice, right?
2. Blue Moon Ranch is having its seventh annual Open Barn Days this weekend. They’ve expanded to have the event on both Saturday and Sunday, so if you’re attending a yoga retreat one day, you can still see alpacas and crias like Jethro here on the next:
Let’s Look At Some Alpacas
They’re just so cute.
These are the new arrivals at Blue Moon Ranch. You can see them in person at the end of next month at Open Barn Days, or buy some yarn made of their fluffiness at the Great Basin Fiber Arts Festival at the end of this month.
Meanwhile, Back At The Ranch
What’s going on at the alpaca ranch, you ask? Lots of baby alpacas! Karma the alpaca had a little daughter, Jasmine:
If I had bought Karma two years ago I’d have doubled my investment now. (Such a shame I lacked a spare $15,000 at the time.)
Be sure to plan on visiting during Fall Open Farm days, too–the last weekend in September.
World Got You Down?
Upset by the latest news? Feeling blue? I have two words for you: Baby alpaca! The first cria of the year was born at Blue Moon Ranch Saturday:
Almost As Cute As Toby
Saturday at Open Barn Day had lots of sunshine, fall colors, and baby alpacas:
There was a lot of yarn, too, but I had come without a project in mind. Fortunately, the ranch will have some yarn up on its website next week. Or maybe I’ll have to visit again!
