I wasn’t joking when I said last month that all I want to wear are maxi dresses (with a jacket for work). When you’re in air conditioning all day but it’s 100 degrees out, they keep your legs from freezing but are much cooler than pants when you hit the pavement. Also, sewing knits is FAST. Here’s the latest version:

It’s a pattern from a small indie designer; all the sewing blogs were raving about the fit of it so I gave it a try. And they were right–I raised the neckline, but otherwise cut it to my measurements and it fit perfectly and went together really well. And quickly.

I like the back, too–I think it looks very “store bought” versus homemade:
